Karma: An independent source sans attachment

Traditional Philosophies, Principle and PracticesUniversal Values and Morality

In Bhagvad Geeta,Lord Krishna describes about a person who diligently perseveres to control the vacillating mind from getting attached to a sensual complexity. In chapter six, Lord Krishna expounds about the nature of mind and the ways to succeed in subduing the mind. Lord Krishna stated that one who has conquered the mind and practices karma Yoga with resoluteness i.e dedicating all ones deeds to the Almighty earns immaculate quality of being virtuous and would be treated with immense esteem.

It is GOD who created us. Our parents are our biological fathers and mothers but the human form and body and the inherent faculties are bestowed upon us by the great Almighty. We have taken several births and have been bought up by fathers and mothers. There would have been instances wherein we might have been bought up by a single parent or brother or sister. Every birth, we were looked after and nurtured by different bodies but the main source of our birth remains one , i.e. the GOD who sends us to perform different deeds with a purpose.

Lord states that it becomes our responsibility to perform our karma (DEEDS) without any attachment and should dedicate the fruits of the Deeds to the Almighty. That is called sacrifice or Yagna. Performing ones deeds for God and dedicating the fruits to the GOD not just purifies the person as a whole but also sets him /her free from the bondages encrypted with the respective Karma.
